Highway upgrading works to enable the ELT to run to Barking Riverside are currently
underway and expected to complete by 2013

The first phase of the ELT has been completed and services are running from Ilford to Dagenham Dock station via Barking town centre. Meadowland is currently served by existing bus route 387 running to Barking town centre, and this will be upgraded to a full ELT route as the population of Barking Riverside grows.
Barking Riverside is a vibrant and sustainable urban community supported by healthcare, retail, leisure and educational facilities, and serviced by new and established road, rail, Underground and air transport links.
